Truffle honey butter fried chicken

Fried chicken

  • 2 chicken thighs

  • 2 chicken drumsticks

  • 300ml buttermilk

  • 150ml pickle juice

  • 250g potato starch or cornflour

  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tbsp cayenne pepper

  • ½ tbsp garlic powder

  • ½ tbsp onion powder

  • ½ tbsp salt

  • Veg oil for frying


Honey Butter Sauce

  • 50g butter

  • 4 tbsp truffle honey or normal honey

  • 1 tbsp chilli flakes

  • 2 garlic cloves finely diced

  • Pinch of salt and pepper


Here we go @bboxfood x @foodslut recipe number two and it’s as slutty as it gets.. Truffle Honey Butter Fried Chicken. This is without doubt the crispiest, juiciest fried chicken I’ve ever made. Paired with that sweet slightly spicy sauce with a hint of truffle, naughty doesn’t even start to cover it. Swipe for some sultry pouring and dipping action. For a final flourish taking this chicken into slutty overdrive dip it into some Smokey bbq sauce... Heaven


  1. Mix the buttermilk and pickled juice, and brine the chicken pieces in there for at least a couple of hours up to 24

  2. Mix the potato starch or cornflour with the spices and salt

  3. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture and prepare the oil for fryin

  4. First fry of the chicken is at 160c for 7 minutes, lift from the oil and heat the oil again to reach 185c before giving the chicken a final fry until golden and super crispy approx. 90 seconds

  5. To make the sauce simply combined the ingredients and heat through in a pan… cover the chicken in the sauce and for an extra slutty touch serve with smokey bbq sauce
