Philly Cheese

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 long soft rolls


  • 2 tbsp butter


  • 1 10oz sirloin or ribeye steak sliced thinly with the fat removed


  • 1 white onion or shallot finely sliced


  • 1/2 green pepper diced


  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce


  • 3 or 4 slices of provolone cheese (could use cheddar or mozzarella)



RECIPE

  1. Toast the buns inside side down in a pan with the butter


  2. Add a little oil to a frying pan and fry off the onions, when they’ve softened add the peppers and soften them down too.


  3. Add the Worcestershire sauce reduce and remove the onion mix from the pan


  4. Use the same pan and get it really hot again add a drizzle of oil and fry the steak getting some good caramelisation on the beef


  5. Return the onion pepper mix to the beef stir well and top the mixture with the slices of cheese so it melts


  6. Fill the toasted buns generously


  7. Slut this up to the Max by dipping it in gravy
