2 racks of pork ribs
1 tbsp Chinese five spice
1 tbsp garlic powder
2 tbsp dark brown sugar
1 tbsp salt
2 tbsp marmite
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp mirin
2 tbsp honey
1 packet of pork scratchings
1 packet of prawn crackers
Marmite and honey glazed slow roasted ribs with crushed prawn crackers and pork scratchings. Cooked by @bboxfood for the #thegreatmarmiteexperiment greatmarmiteexperiment (don’t worry he can’t win). Take your rib dip it in that pork scratching and prawn cracker mix. Tender meat , added crunch what more could you want.
Make a rub with with five spice, garlic powder, sugar and salt cover the ribs well with this rub then wrap in foil
Preheat oven to 160c and bake the ribs in the oven for 2 hours until they are nice and tender
Meanwhile make the glaze by adding marmite, vinegar, mirin and honey to a saucepan heat through and keep slightly warm
Unwrap the ribs from the foil and these can either be finished on a bbq or in a hot oven at 200c
The process is simple glaze them regularly as they cook, every 5 mins in the oven or every 2 mins on a bbq when the glaze has completely coated the ribs and they properly slutty and sticky they are ready to eat.
Serve with crushed up prawn crackers and pork scratchings, roll the ribs in the mix for salty, pork, prawn crunch!
